Dispute Resolution with Public Entities – Key Insights from our webinar Today, we hosted an insightful lunch webinar featuring Madeleine Thörn, Deputy Secretary General, and Lina Krait, Legal Counsel at the SCC Arbitration Institute, on navigating disputes with the public sector. The session explored the unique opportunities and challenges of resolving disputes with public actors and covered practical aspects of arbitration in public procurement cases. Key takeaways from the webinar and the report include: • The comparison with general court cases shows that the SCC has administered disputes involving significantly higher values and has done so in less time. • The median time from commencement to final award/judgement is 12.4 months at the SCC and 18.1 months at the general court – with the SCC's Expedited Arbitration Rules the time drops to just 6.6 months on average! • In construction cases, the SCC resolves disputes on average twice as quickly as the general courts. • Public sector entities have used all the dispute resolution methods in the SCC toolkit. This discussion is particularly timely, as the SCC recently published a report highlighting the need for efficient resolution processes in public procurement, where SEK 900 billion in essential contracts is at stake. With our flexible arbitration services, SCC offers a faster alternative to traditional courts, helping to maintain momentum on critical public projects and protect valuable public investments. A special thanks to Sveriges Bolagsjurister(Swedish Company Lawyers Association) for the cooperation! Missed the live session? You can watch the recorded webinar here: https://lnkd.in/djyyh269
