🚀 Meet our co-worker, Legal Counsel Raffaela Isepponi!
What do you do for work?
– As a Legal Counsel, I handle about 50 arbitration cases each year. The initial phase, up until the cases are referred to the arbitral tribunal, is particularly intense. The range of cases, from small domestic disputes to multibillion-dollar matters, keeps the work fascinating. Beyond managing cases, I engage in teaching at universities and deliver talks at companies, law firms, and conferences. My work also involves report writing and driving initiatives focused on diversity, sustainability, and other policy improvements to enhance our services.
What's something you didn't know about SCC before you started working with us?
– The immediacy with which we can implement change is remarkable. Whether it is ensuring gender parity in arbitrator appointments, adopting inclusive language, or refining policies based on specific cases, the SCC is committed to continuous improvement. This adaptability and drive make it an exceptionally dynamic organisation.
What's your favourite type of music or favourite artist?
– It depends, the proper answer for a lawyer. This year, I got swept up in the Oasis reunion excitement and rediscovered Britpop, especially Blur. I can’t wait to see Oasis live at their reunion concert and to see how much Britpop dominates my Spotify Wrapped 2024!
