At the SCC event โMastering Contract Negotiations and Dispute Differencesโ, arbitration experts gathered to examine how legal cultures and procedural approaches influence dispute resolution across jurisdictions.
Mathias Steinรธ, Partner at Hafnia Law and member of the SCC Arbitratorsโ Council, reflects on the contrasting developments in Swedish and Danish arbitration. He notes that Sweden swiftly emerged as an international arbitration hub alongside centres such as London, Paris, Singapore and Hong Kong, whereas Denmark has maintained a strong domestic tradition.
Mathias points out that much of the Danish arbitration community has trailed behind Stockholm for many years, with international concepts introduced later.
