It’s time to introduce another one of our colleagues: Madeleine Thörn!
What does your role at the SCC involve?
As Deputy Secretary General and Head of Operations at the SCC, I have the privilege of working with an outstanding team to drive innovation and meet businesses’ needs in dispute resolution. I also lead projects to advance our digital solutions, ensuring we remain the most modern arbitral institute in the world! No small task—and no two days are ever the same.
Is there something you didn’t know before you started working at the SCC?
I was both surprised and impressed by how the SCC, with its 100+ years of history, maintains such a strong entrepreneurial spirit. The relentless drive to ask, "How can we be better? What's next?" is inspiring. This focus on growth—both technical and ethical—is something I’m particularly proud of as part of the SCC team.
Do you have any hidden talents—or perhaps a favourite sport?
Let me combine the two: I can deadlift 100 kg! There’s nothing quite like a heavy lifting day at the gym—it’s my favorite way to stay strong and focused. 💪
