Ever wondered how the arbitrator is appointed and qualified? Section 8 of the Swedish Arbitration Act and Article 18 of the SCC Arbitration Rules require an arbitrator to be impartial and independent. To maintain these standards, an arbitrator must immediately disclose any circumstances that could affect their impartiality and independence when accepting an assignment.
