𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲, 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. During a recent visit to Istanbul, our Specialist Counsel Jake Lowther was reminded of this while visiting an exhibition near the Swedish Palace tracing nearly 400 years of diplomatic, cultural and commercial ties between Sweden and Türkiye. From the arrival of the first Swedish diplomatic mission in Constantinople in 1632-33 to the 1739 Sweden-Ottoman Treaty of Friendship and the close cooperation between the two countries today, the exhibition offered a striking reminder of the enduring value of international exchange. It is a theme that continues to resonate in the arbitration community, where cross-border dialogue and long-standing relationships remain as important as ever.
