In a recent interview, SCC Deputy Secretary General Madeleine Thรถrn shares her perspective on what it takes to resolve disputes efficiently and why the choice of method matters more than many realise.
Madeleine highlights a clear trend: disputes are becoming larger and more complex, even as organisations struggle to dedicate the resources required to manage them. Her response is that direct, faster, more cost-effective mechanisms such as Expedited Arbitration, SCC Express, and mediation exist precisely for this reason.
Beyond procedural expertise, Madeleine points to curiosity as a defining quality for anyone working in commercial dispute resolution combined with the courage to lead in a rapidly changing environment, not least in the age of AI.
