Last Friday marked the sixth edition of Nordic Arbitration Day (NAD), organised by Young Arbitrators Sweden (YAS) in collaboration with their counterparts in Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland.
The programme was as strong as ever. Practitioners from across the region came together to debate some of the most pressing questions in the field:
โข How to rebalance procedure and evidence in case management.
โข How sanctions are reshaping arbitral practice.
โข How the use of expert witnesses is evolving in an era of virtual hearings and hot-tubbing.
โข A battle of conservatives and reformers on the question of repeat arbitrator appointments, why are the same persons so often appointed, whether this is even a problem, and if so, what can be done about it?
The SCC was pleased to be part of the conversation, with Specialist Counsel Jake Lowther contributing to that closing discussion alongside practitioners from across the Nordics.โฆ
