At the SCC Arbitration Institute, we administer disputes across a wide range of industries, from energy and financial services to retail, insurance, and capital markets.
But one trend from our 2025 statistics stands out: the remarkable rise of disputes from the real estate and construction sectors.
In previous years, we saw around 25โ30 construction cases annually. In 2025, that number nearly doubled, reaching 57 cases.
We believe this is no coincidence. In 2023, SCC published a dedicated report on how construction disputes are resolved at the SCC compared to in ad hoc arbitration. Since then, parties in the construction industry have increasingly chosen institutional arbitration, and they have chosen the SCC.
This is one of many insights from our first-ever extended SCC Annual Statistics Report, bringing together the full picture of SCC's 2025 caseload, trends, and statistics.โฆ
