β’ Administrative secretaries can provide valuable support, within clearly defined boundaries.
β’ Institutional rules (including the SCC Rules) and soft-law guidance promote transparency and offer essential guardrails.
β’ Acting as administrative secretary can be highly career-enhancing.
The discussion also reflected a strong interest in creating more accessible and well-defined pathways to secretary appointments. Open dialogue and practical training remain central to navigating ethical considerations and the day-to-day realities of tribunal support work.
