In the past decade, Myanmar has made efforts to renew its archaic legal framework for arbitration. Myanmar acceded to the New York Convention 1958 in 2013, and also adopted a new Arbitration Law based on the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration in January 2016.
